A direct train service between Prayagraj's Subedarganj and Katra, the base camp for the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage, commenced on Thursday. Vaishnaw for initiating the service, highlighting the convenience it provides for pilgrims. The train, a Jammu Mail, has a capacity of 1120 seats but only 66 tickets were sold on the first day, most being booked under the Tatkal quota. The low turnout is attributed to the software system not yet being updated to include all stations along the Subedarganj-Delhi route. The PR Officer of Prayagraj division has assured that the software will be updated soon, enabling reservations for all stations.
