Each rack can carry up to 4 tons of goods. The division has instructed the marketing staff to regularly visit commercial areas, share information, explain the benefits of using railway services, and take feedback. Freight charges are calculated based on the train and distance, ranging from a minimum of 55 paise to a maximum of 9 rupees per kilogram. Businesses sometimes lease an entire SLR for transporting large quantities of goods. In such cases, goods are transported in another SLR or on other trains on the same route. Trains are categorized based on freight capacity: 'R' category includes high-capacity trains like Rajdhani Express, Mysore Express, Ganga-Kaveri, Shramjeevi, Mahanagari, and Pawan Express, while 'P' category includes express trains carrying relatively lower volumes. 'S' category consists of passenger trains. This initiative has led to an increase in revenue by connecting more businesses with railway services, and regular feedback is being collected.
