Bharat Express. The Banaras Intercity, travelling on the same route, was terminated at Lucknow, causing inconvenience to thousands of passengers. A dozen trains passing through Lucknow were also impacted on Thursday. The OHE was repaired around 5:40 PM, restoring the railway route after a 12-hour disruption. According to the Senior DCM of North Railway, Kuldeep Tiwari, the Durgiyana Express (train number 12357) departed from Lucknow at 3:30 AM on its journey from Kolkata to Amritsar. Around 5:00 AM, it collided with hanging OHE wires near Umartaali station, causing a fault in the line. The pilot stopped the train and informed Umartaali and Dalelnagar stations. All incoming trains to Lucknow were halted, including the Rajdhani and Vande Bharat, which were held at the station for hours before being diverted. About two dozen trains were rerouted, and two were canceled. Officials and rescue trains arrived from Lucknow, Hardoi, and Balamu Junction. After six hours, the Durgiyana Express was dispatched with a diesel engine. Hundreds of passengers were stranded in Lucknow due to the halting of two trains on the Bareilly route. While the railway offered alternative train arrangements, several passengers opted for buses. The railway will provide refunds to these passengers. Other passengers remained at the station until late evening, waiting for alternative trains. Over two dozen trains were delayed for seven to eight hours. In Lucknow, passengers at Charbagh, Lucknow Junction, Aishbagh, Badshahnagar, and Gomtinagar railway stations were stranded while waiting for trains. The congestion in the circulating area increased due to passengers being stuck in waiting areas for hours. Long queues formed at inquiry centers for train updates. The GRP and RPF were on standby to manage any potential commotion due to the lack of information. Several trains were delayed by three to five hours, including the Kolkata-Jammu Tawi (4.5 hours), Ganga-Satluj (3.5 hours), Jansadharan Express (6.5 hours), Howrah-Amritsar (3 hours), Unchahar Special (3.25 hours), Shahjahanpur-Lucknow Special (3.5 hours), Jhansi-Lucknow (5 hours), Gorakhpur-Vadodara (6 hours), and Patna-Ahmedabad Special (5 hours). Other trains faced delays late into the night.

North Railway ke Senior DCM, Kuldeep Tiwari ke mutabik, Kolkata se Amritsar jaane wali train number 12357 Durgiyana Express subah 3:30 baje Lucknow se chali aur subah kareeb 5 baje Umartaali station ke aage track pe late hue OHE wires se takra gayi, jisse line mein fault aa gaya.
