Additionally, 60 stations are being developed as Amrit stations, with 50 in Assam and one each in Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura. The General Manager of the Northeast Frontier Railways, Chetan Shrivastava, confirmed the allocation of sufficient funds for infrastructure and safety-related works. He highlighted the electrification of 921 RKM in 2023–24 and the target of 1573 RKM electrification in 2024–25, aiming to complete electrification across all Northeastern states. The budget allocation also includes significant funding for new lines and doubling projects (Rs. 8378.53 crore), track renewal and bridge works (Rs. 1305.07 crore), signalling and telecom works (Rs. 170 crore), and passenger amenity improvements at stations (Rs. 537 crore).
