Proposed new lines include Belagavi to Dharwad (Rs 20 crore), Marikuppam to Kuppam (Rs 60 crore), Kadur to Chikkamagaluru and Hassan (Rs 70 crore), Malagur to Palasamudram (Rs 21 crore), Hassan to Bengaluru (Rs 20 crore), Hubballi to Ankola (Rs 20 crore), Munirabad to Mahabubnagar (Rs 100 crore), and Gadag to Yalvigi (Rs 150 crore). Doubling projects receiving funding include Gadag- Hotgi (Rs 170 crore), Penukonda- Dharmavaram (Rs 100 crore), Baiyappanahalli- Hosur (Rs 200 crore), Yesvantpur- Channasandra (Rs 100 crore), Hubballi- Chikjajur (Rs 25 crore), Bengaluru Cantt- Whitefield (Rs 200 crore), Hospet- Tinaighat- Vasco da Gama (Rs 400 crore), Yelahanka- Penukonda (Rs 20 crore), and Arsikere- Tumakuru (Rs 20 crore). The SWR has received a total outlay of Rs 6493.87 crore, with Rs 1448.89 crore allocated for new lines, Rs 1241 crore for doubling, Rs 961.22 crore for passenger amenities, and Rs 349.40 crore for Road Over Bridge and Road Under Bridge projects. The redevelopment of Bengaluru Cantonment and Yesvantpur stations is already underway, and 51 stations in SWR will be redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Stations Scheme, including Gubbi and Shravanabelagola.
