The project, costing approximately one crore rupees, is being undertaken under the ambitious Amrit Bharat scheme, which aims to provide better amenities for passengers at the station. The station is a major hub for visitors to various historical and religious sites in the region, including Sher Shah's Tomb, Gupta Dham, Tara Chandi Dham, and others. Apart from Sasaram, the Amrit Bharat scheme is also being implemented at Dehri and Bikramganj stations to improve passenger facilities by expanding foot over bridges, installing lifts, beautifying circulating areas, and expanding parking and entry/exit gates.

Puja tak ye automatic seedee chalna shuru kar denge. Almost one crore rupees ki lagat se lage jaa rahe yeh automatic seedee, pura hone ke baad Sasaram Junction par travellers ki suvidhaaon me aur bhi sudhar aayega. Amrit Bharat scheme ke under, almost 21 crore rupees ki schemes ko approve kiya gaya hai, aur uspar kaam shuru ho gaya hai. Is scheme ke under, Sasaram se Dehri aur Bikramganj stations par bhi passenger facilities ko badhaya ja raha hai. Yaha pe foot over bridges ka vishtaar aur chaudikaran, lifts, circulating areas ka sundar karne ka kaam, parking, aur entry/exit gates ka vishtaar kiya jaa raha hai.
