In our country, there is "sheep walk" mindset that the percentage of route electrified decides the route development. Railway is trying its hard labour and very important money to completely electrify the country, but i want to know is it that much important ? Who said that diesel locos are poor in terms of speed and are inferior as compared to electric locos ?
Yes diesel locos use fuel (diesel) which is very non-renewable resource but don't you understand at present in our country majority of electricity is produced by the help of coal , which is more valuable (in terms of future availability) as compared to diesel.
Our...
more... country's train can easily run with diesel locos and that too with mps 130. But at present hardly handful of tracks in our country are 130 mps upgraded. Some of even are 60 and 90 mps.
I just want to plead IR, stop wasting money at present in the name of "The electrification", instead first spend money and man-power for doubling and speeding up of tracks, so that the safety of the trains running on tracks could be improved and rail-derailment could be prevented.
Electrification can be done once every track is doubled and standard is improved.
Common people don't care whether their train is hauled by a WAP or WAM or WDM or WDP, they only care for their safety and the time taken.
